#JeTAway collection #4

October 10th, 2011

Due to some website troubles, the contest was extended. I’m currently going back through the submissions and making sure (as much as I can) that all submissions are represented on this blog. That way I can find everything in one place. Hopefully I’ll pick winners today.

Anyway, here are a few additional submissions that I didn’t post up here earlier.

JeTAway

JeTAway2011!

For my birthday this year, I’m going to give away some presents!

I’m holding a contest until my birthday, October 6. To enter, send me a link to something awesome on the internet. Videos or songs preferred, but anything on the internet is fair game. What do you like? What do you think I’ll like? Funny, weird, wacky, bizarre, badass, beautiful, or confusing.

On October 6, I’ll choose winners. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third most awesome submissions. Enter as many times as you like, but only one prize will be awarded per person.

Actual prizes will be kept secret for now. They’ll be small, but random and hopefully awesome enough to befit the winning submissions. First place winner will have choice of three things. Second place will have choice of two remaining items. Third place will have the leftover prize.

Multiple posts are fine, but only one prize per person.

I’m doing this on Twitter (#JeTAway) or on Facebook (my wall or messages). I’ll try collecting the links here on the blahrg so I can keep things all in one place.

That’s all for now.

My rocketship

September 10th, 2011

I’m procrastinating today. I should be cleaning the house and whatnot, but I’ve decided to play around and make some music.

So this is what happened. I call it “Rocketship.”

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Thing-a-day?

February 8th, 2011

Soooo….

Yesterday I did a thing-a-day #7, but I didn’t take a picture of it. It’s another ring, and it looks nice. I did it late, but didn’t post it on the shop and didn’t take pictures of it. Anyway, I promise that I actually did it…

And today I’m not actually going to make something officially. I’m baking bread at the moment, but that’s pretty standard for me.

However, I did finally take pictures of the teak and zebrawood that I have. I haven’t started yet on making them into rings, but I wanted to take pictures to give options.

Options for whom, you ask?

Options for the winner of my giveaway contest! Woo!

So, yeah. I have 62 fans of Woodland X Designs over on Facebook, and I had a contest to give away a pair of rings. I need to give the winner some choices of wood, as well as details about other options (ring size and width), so I can start working on them. Also gotta get some disposable ring sizers.

But anyway, here are the photos of the zebrawood and the teak.

The first one is zebrawood.

Here’s the teak.

These are two strips, a little wider than the rings will be.

Thing-a-day 6

February 6th, 2011

I started on a few more rings today, and finished off one that I started the other day. This one is listed over at the store.

I’m doing a giveaway over at my facebook page tomorrow, so then I’ll have two more to do, in addition to a few others that I have lined up. The custom work should keep me busy. I also need to make a couple of teak and zebrawood rings, so I can have photos of what those kinds of rings will look like. I probably won’t add too many more individual rings to the store once I get samples of the teak and zebrawood rings listed, then I’ll just concentrate on taking custom orders.

Also, I need to order some disposable ring sizers, so that I can mail them out to potential customers to make sure I’m creating the correct size for them. I’m currently offering a 7-day guarantee, since I’m not that confident in my sizing and I want to make sure the customers are confident that they can send the ring back if it doesn’t fit.

Thing-a-day 5

February 6th, 2011

I didn’t post about this yesterday, but anyway…

We hosted a valentines-making party, which was excellent and a lot of fun. It took me a while to get going, but I ended up making a total of eight (one for each guest, and one for Joelle).

Here are a few pics of the ones I made.

Thing-a-day 4

February 4th, 2011

Today’s things aren’t rings. I took a few photos on the way home from work (in Boston). The first is the Old State House, and the second is some clock tower that I don’t actually know the name of.
